The Rubicon cocktail is an unusual sour cocktail by Jamie Boudreau from Seattle: Tanqueray gin, lime juice and maraschino liqueur form the basis, Green Chartreuse and rosemary give the necessary kick. If you have some rosemary left over in the kitchen, you should definitely use it for the Rubicon cocktail.
INGREDIENTS
- 15 ml/ ½ oz. Green Chartreuse
- 60 ml/ 2 oz. Gin
- 15 ml/ ½ oz. maraschino liqueur
- 15 ml/ ½ oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- rosemary sprigs
- crushed ice
METHOD
- Put a rosemary sprig at the bottom of the glass.
- Add the Chartreuse.
- Light it with a match and allow it to burn in the glass while you mix the drink.
- Shake the gin, maraschino liqueur and lemon juice with ice.
- Strain into the glass to extinguish the flame
- Top with crushed ice.
- Garnish with a rosemary sprig.
