The Fancy Free cocktail is basically a Whiskey Old Fashioned with maraschino instead of sugar. But it tastes surprisingly dry, supported by generous splashes of orange and aromatic bitters. The cocktail was invented in 1940.
INGREDIENTS
- 60 ml/ 2 oz. Bourbon Whisky
- 12,5 ml/ 5/12 oz. Maraschino liqueur
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- 2 dashes of Orange bitters
METHOD
- Fill a mixing glass ⅔ full off ice.
- Add the ingredients and stir until chilled.
- Add a big ice cube into chilled old fashioned glass.
- Strain into the old fashioned glass.
- Garnish with an orange zest twist.
