The Charro Negro cocktail (aka Batanga cocktail) is basically a Cuba Libre made with Tequila in place of Rum and an all-important a pinch of salt. The Charro Negro is a classic Mexican cocktail that combines the bold flavors of Tequila and Cola. Named after the “black cowboy”, a character from Mexican folklore and film history, this cocktail was created in the year 1961 in the town Tequila in Mexico.
INGREDIENTS
- 60 ml/ 2 oz. Tequila silver
- 12,5 ml/ 5/12 oz.oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 105 ml/ 3 ½ oz. cola
- pinch of salt
METHOD
- Take a pre-chilled Collins glass.
- Put a salt rim with sea salt on your glass.
- Stir the salt with the lime juice in base of glass to dissolve salt.
- Add ice and other ingredients and stir briefly.
