CHARRO NEGRO COCKTAIL Recipe

The Charro Negro cocktail (aka Batanga cocktail) is basically a Cuba Libre made with Tequila in place of Rum and an all-important a pinch of salt. The Charro Negro is a classic Mexican cocktail that combines the bold flavors of Tequila and Cola. Named after the “black cowboy”, a character from Mexican folklore and film history, this cocktail was created in the year 1961 in the town Tequila in Mexico.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60 ml/ 2 oz. Tequila silver
  • 12,5 ml/ 5/12  oz.oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 105 ml/ 3 ½ oz. cola
  • pinch of salt

METHOD

  1. Take a pre-chilled Collins glass.
  2. Put a salt rim with sea salt on your glass.
  3. Stir the salt with the lime juice in base of glass to dissolve salt.
  4. Add ice and other ingredients and stir briefly.
