The Old Barrel cocktail is a riff on the well-known Old Fashioned cocktail. The spice of Rye Whiskey, the complexity of herbal liqueur and the winey Sherry form a harmonious trinity with a hint of aromatic bitters and the freshness of lemon zest.

INGREDIENTS

• 60 ml/ 2 oz. Rye Whiskey
• 15 ml/ ½ oz. Bénédictine  
• 15 ml/ ½ oz. Sherry
• 3 dashes of Angostura bitters

METHOD

1. Fill a mixing glass ⅔ full off ice.
2. Add the ingredients and stir until chilled.
3. Add a big ice cube into chilled old fashioned glass.
4. Strain into the old fashioned glass.
5. Express lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.
