The Zaza cocktail is named after a French play that was a hit in the early 20th century and was followed by opera and film versions. If you stir it, you get a Dubonnet Cocktail, but in my recipe we substitute Sloe Gin for Gin.

INGREDIENTS

• 45 ml/ 1 ½ oz. Sloe Gin
• 60 ml/ 2 oz. Dubonnet Red

METHOD

1. Pour all ingredients into shaker with ice cubes.
2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
4. Garnish with an orange peel
